The English national team coach Thomas Tuchel appeared in press statements after the victory over Andorra 1-0 in the third round of the European qualifiers for the World Cup.

The coach said: "I am not satisfied with the performance. I think we started well in the first 20 or 25 minutes, creating many chances and half-chances, then we completely lost momentum and could not regain it in the first half. We got a bit of it in the second half, but we ended up in a position that was not good enough in terms of motivation and drive."

He added: "We can only acknowledge that this is not what we expect from ourselves. We need to look into it in more detail and deliver a better performance on Tuesday."

Regarding Madueke: "Throughout the match, he was the most dangerous. I felt his hunger to execute the plan throughout the match."

He elaborated: "The message got through because we had 25 good minutes, but after that, neither the energy nor the determination was present. Then the performance showed as we saw it."

He concluded: "What worried me the most was in the last 20 minutes because I didn't like the spirit with which we finished the match. I didn't like the lack of urgency and drive, and that was not fitting for the magnitude of the occasion. This is still about World Cup qualifiers.
