Barcelona Rejects Chelsea's Offer to Part Ways with Firmin
Friday 06-06-2025
Barcelona rejected an offer from Chelsea that included a swap deal involving the transfer of midfielder Firmin Lopez to the London club in exchange for Barcelona acquiring the services of French forward Christopher Nkunku during the summer transfer window.

According to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," the rejection of the deal came firmly from both the club president Joan Laporta and head coach Hans Flick, as Barcelona insists on keeping Firmin, who is considered a key element in the German coach's plans.

Firmin Lopez participated in 46 matches with Barcelona this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 10 assists, while Nkunku played 42 matches with Chelsea, scoring 14 goals and assisting 5.

Barcelona does not intend to part ways with Firmin except in one case, which is if the player himself requests to leave in order to gain more playing time.
