Barcelona Continues Interest in Signing Nathan Ake
Friday 08-05-2026
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that Barcelona still considers Nathan Ake as an option to strengthen their defense in the upcoming transfer window.

According to the report, the 31-year-old Dutch defender, who plays for Manchester City, is considered a low-cost option on the Catalan club's list, especially after his role diminished this season, despite his contract running until the summer of 2027.

The report indicated that Aki is eager to embark on a new experience, while the biggest obstacle is Manchester City's insistence on not providing any concessions.

The Dutch defender is highly regarded within Barcelona due to his experience in the English Premier League and with the Netherlands national team, in addition to his ability to build play and distribute the ball.

The Spanish newspaper added that the deal might face other obstacles, most notably the player's high salary, in addition to Manchester City's desire to achieve the highest possible financial return from the sale, which could increase the cost of the contract.

The report also clarified that Aki is attracting the interest of several clubs, with Milan, Juventus, and Roma monitoring his situation in preparation for a potential attempt to sign him.
