
Officially: Marco Baroni New Head Coach for Torino
The Italian club Torino announced today the appointment of coach Marco Baroni as the head coach of the first team, with a contract that extends for two years, starting from July 1, 2025.
Baroni, who is 61 years old, has an impressive record as a former player in the defense position, having started his professional career with Fiorentina in the 1981/1982 season, and concluded his career in 2000 after a distinguished journey during which he won the Italian league title and the Super Cup with Napoli.
In his coaching career, which has spanned over 25 years, Baroni has had several notable experiences, most prominently leading Benevento to promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history in the 2016/2017 season.
In addition to winning the Serie B title with Lecce in the 2021/2022 season, which promoted them to Serie A, his last stop was with Lazio last season.
For his part, Torino's president, Urbano Cairo, welcomed the new coach, saying: "Welcome to Torino, we wish you successful work, and always Forza Toro."
