Wirtz: Who said I want the number 10?
Florian Wirtz, the star of Bayer Leverkusen, commented on recent rumors that claimed he wanted to take the number "10" if he transferred to Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool is working to sign Wirtz in a deal that could cost the club around 150 million euros.
Wirtz wrote on his official Instagram account: "Who said I want the number 10? I respect the players."
He added: "Don't believe anything that's written."
Wirtz rejected several offers, most notably from Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, in order to join the Reds.
