Chiesa: Allegri Supported Me and Motta is the Reason for My Departure from Juventus
The Italian Federico Chiesa, forward for Liverpool FC, revealed the circumstances surrounding his departure from Juventus, confirming that he was not part of coach Thiago Motta's plans, while praising former coach Massimiliano Allegri, stating that he contributed to his development.
Chiesa joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024 from Juventus, after playing for the Italian team since 2020, where he had a loan period with Fiorentina in 2022, before returning to the Old Lady.
Chiesa stated in press remarks: "A lot has been said, but I have great respect for Allegri; he gave me a lot, and I started last season strongly with him. He is someone who loves to win."
He added: "I think Allegri's appointment at Milan is an excellent decision; he helped me a lot in developing my playing style and made me realize that I am capable of playing as a second striker. He called me in September to wish me luck before my move to Liverpool, and it was a wonderful gesture from him."
The Liverpool forward continued: "Returning to Juventus? I still love this club, and why not? Everything is possible in the future."
Regarding the reason for his departure, Chiesa said: "Thiago Motta did not want me to continue with Juventus and told me that I was not in his plans, so I decided to look for a new team."
Federico Chiesa, 27, participated in 14 matches with Liverpool during the 2024/2025 season across various competitions, managing to score two goals and provide two assists.
