Atletico Madrid has officially announced the extension of its French star Antoine Griezmann's contract for an additional season, allowing him to remain with the team until June 30, 2027.

Griezmann's previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2026, before both parties reached an agreement that guarantees the historic club's top scorer stays for another year.

Griezmann is considered one of the greatest legends of Atletico Madrid, having scored 197 goals in 442 matches since joining the team in the 2014/2015 season, making him the club's all-time leading scorer.

He has won several titles with the Rojiblancos, most notably the Spanish Super Cup in 2014, and the UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League in 2018.

During the last season, the French star participated in 53 matches across various competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 9 assists, continuing to shine in the Madrid team's jersey.

Atletico Madrid is preparing to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, having been drawn in Group B alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Botafogo, and Seattle Sounders.
