El-Shenawy: I Look Forward to Winning the Champions League
Ahmed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper for Pyramids, stated that he is looking forward to winning the African Champions League title after losing the 2016 final against Sundowns with his former team, Zamalek.
Pyramids will face Sundowns tomorrow, Sunday, in the second leg of the African Champions League final.
The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
El-Shenawy added in the pre-match press conference: "The situation was different with Zamalek because it has a large fan base, but Pyramids is a relatively new team and does not enjoy the same fan support in Egypt. I hope to win the continental title with them."
He pointed out that media support should be greater for Pyramids, as it is a new team, and thus reaching the final remains a significant achievement for the team.
