Liverpool Announces Contract with Jeremy Frimpong
Liverpool FC has officially signed Dutch player Jeremy Frimpong, coming from Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, during the summer transfer window.
Frimpong, who is 24 years old, has signed a long-term contract with the Reds after successfully passing his medical examinations.
In his first comment, Frimpong said to Liverpool's official website: "When Liverpool showed interest, I didn't hesitate; it was clear to me. I asked my agents to finalize the deal at any cost."
He added: "I will give the team all my energy and effort, and I hope we achieve trophies together and celebrate with the fans. Thank you for accepting me; I won't let you down."
Frimpong participated in 190 matches with Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 30 goals and assisting 44, and was a key player in the team's victory in both the league and cup last season, in addition to being named in the Bundesliga's best XI for the last two seasons.
Frimpong spoke about his new coach Arne Slot, saying: "I spoke with him, and he was very positive. He told me that I have the speed and energy that the team needs. I've heard a lot of guidance from my teammates in the national team."
It is noteworthy that Jeremy Frimpong began his career at Manchester City's academy, then moved to Celtic in Scotland before joining Leverkusen, and he has 12 international caps for the Netherlands.
The signing of the Dutch star comes as a replacement for English right-back Alexander Arnold, who transferred to Real Madrid.
