Klopp Leads Leipzig's Attempts to Convince Fabregas to Coach the Team
Tuesday 27-05-2025
The German newspaper "Bild" reported that RB Leipzig is still holding onto the hope of signing Spanish coach Cesc Fabregas, who is currently managing the Italian team Como, to take over the team's coaching starting next season.

Under Fabregas's leadership, Como has shown impressive performances this season in the Italian league, making it a target for several major European clubs. The newspaper noted that Jurgen Klopp, head of global football at Red Bull, the owner of the German club, has engaged in direct talks with the Spanish coach.

It is worth mentioning that 38-year-old Fabregas not only holds the position of head coach at Como but also owns shares in the club, which could complicate the matter of his departure.

Should Fabregas decline Leipzig's offer, Austrian Oliver Glasner, coach of English club Crystal Palace, would be the top candidate to take over the team's coaching position, according to media reports. Glasner has an impressive record, having recently won the FA Cup and previously winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leipzig parted ways with their former coach Marco Rose at the end of March, and interim coach Zolt Löw was unable to salvage the season, as the team finished the Bundesliga in seventh place, missing out on European participation.
