Sage on the Verge of Coaching Crystal Palace as Successor to Glasner

The Frenchman Pierre Sage is close to taking over the managerial role at Crystal Palace, having reached a preliminary agreement with the English club's management to sign a two-year contract with the option to extend for an additional season.

Some details related to the financial compensation with his current club remain to be resolved, but they do not pose an obstacle to completing the deal.

Sage's selection comes after a successful season in which he led Lens to secure second place in the French league and win the French Cup, making him the first choice for the Crystal Palace management in their search for a coach capable of continuing the team's recent achievements.

The London club turned to Sag after missing the opportunity to sign the Spaniard Andoni Iraola. The similarity of the French coach's tactical ideas with Oliver Glasner's style further convinced the management that he was the most suitable to lead the team in the upcoming phase.

On the other hand, Glasner is nearing a move to Italian club Milan after rejecting an offer from Dutch club Feyenoord, with reports indicating that he has entered advanced negotiations to succeed Massimiliano Allegri.

The Guardian reported that Crystal Palace hopes the appointment of Sagh will provide the necessary stability before a busy season of domestic and European competitions.
