Napoli coach Antonio Conte appeared in press statements after winning the Italian league title following a 2-0 victory over Cagliari at the end of the competition on Friday evening.

The coach said after the match: "When we arrived at the stadium, the entrance was very difficult, as I don't know the number of attendees. A simple thought crossed my mind, if we let these people down, it would be something we carry with us for a long time."

He added: "These players were amazing, it wasn't easy, the pressure on us was huge, but we faced the match in the best way. It was an exceptional season, and the players deserve praise for their desire to challenge themselves again, especially those who won the title two years ago and then finished tenth last season."

He continued: "The goalless draw in the opening match against Modena in the Coppa Italia, and the 3-0 defeat against Verona in the Italian league, then being here to celebrate the league title, was amazing."

He added: "Honestly, winning with Napoli is extremely difficult. For these players to win the title twice in three years means there is something special here, so I am happy for them. More than 30 years ago, Diego Armando Maradona won the title, and now Giovanni Di Lorenzo, the team's captain, raises the trophy again wearing the captain's armband, it's special."

He emphasized: "I repeat, winning the title was not easy, because you are not in a club that plays to win systematically from the start."

He concluded about his future with Napoli: "We are enjoying everything. I have a good relationship with the president. Let's assume we had the chance to get to know each other this season, we are two winning teams. We may be winners in different ways, but we are winners."
