Abdul Rahman Atif: We Must Get Rid of Hamdallah and Sign Another Striker
Criticism continues against Abdul Razak Hamdallah, the star of Al-Shabab, after he failed to score in his team's match yesterday, Tuesday, against Al-Ittihad.
Al-Shabab lost to Al-Ittihad with a score of 3-2 in a match held as part of the 33rd round of the Saudi Roshan League.
Former Al-Shabab star Abdul Rahman Atif criticized Hamdallah in television statements, saying: "I am one of Hamdallah's biggest fans, as I mentioned before, but his continuation will be a significant risk, because you will then be betting on his mood."
He added: "Hamdallah's physical condition is not at its best; it is variable, in addition to the fact that he does not show up in big matches, as happened in the King’s Cup semi-final against Al-Ittihad."
He continued: "All these matters worry all Al-Shabab fans about the future of the team; he scores many goals, but he also misses many opportunities."
He went on: "In my opinion, the club should get rid of Hamdallah due to his moodiness and sign another striker."
He added: "The financial situation of Al-Shabab is not like others, but I hope to sign better foreign players in the upcoming period. The duo Yannick Carrasco and Cristian Guanca are the only ones who deserve to remain on the list of professionals."
He concluded: "A distinguished player does not need many matches to make a difference; he shows his value in just one match. I believe Al-Shabab needs to change the rest of the foreigners."
