Al-Karama Coach: We Had a Great Match Against Al-Karkh and Deserved the Victory
Al-Karama coach Ahmed Khalaf expressed his great happiness after his team achieved an important away victory against Al-Karkh with a score of one goal to none, in the match held at the Ahmad Rady Stadium as part of the 34th round of the Iraqi Stars League.
🗣️ Khalaf said in statements to the media after the match:
"First, I salute the players for their heroic performance and high discipline on the field, as they entered the match with great focus and a clear determination to achieve a positive result, even though the opponent is not easy and plays at home."
He continued: "We scored an early goal through Muntadhar Abdul Amir, and this helped us a lot in managing the match according to our plan. The goal came after excellent teamwork, and the players translated the instructions of the coaching staff literally."
Khalaf added: "After the expulsion of Al-Karkh player (Jaafar Abis) in the 5th minute, the numerical advantage was in our favor, but the most important thing was to maintain focus and not to slack off, because such matches can turn at any moment. Al-Karkh tried to come back and create some chances, but my team was defensively disciplined."
The coach confirmed: "We are experiencing a rising performance over the past weeks, and the team has started to reach a stage of tactical and mental maturity, and we have young elements who fight and provide respectable levels. Today was not just a victory by points, but a confirmation of the team's identity and spirit."
Regarding the team's position in the standings, he said: "We are now in ninth place with 49 points, and we still have important matches ahead. Our ambition is to establish ourselves among the elite teams, and this is what we are working on gradually. We respect all teams, but we believe in our abilities and aspire to finish the season in the best possible way."
Khalaf concluded his talk by saying: "I thank the Al-Karama fans who always support us, and a special thanks to the club management for their support and continuous backing for the coaching staff and players. We promise everyone that we will give our all to present a respectable season and results worthy of the name of Al-Karama Club."
