Mishari Al-Mutairi, the president of NEOM Club, stated in an interview with the British 'The Athletic' that the sports project in NEOM is not limited to hosting the 2034 World Cup, but includes an ambitious vision to change the sports landscape.

Al-Mutairi likened the NEOM project to the impact of Barcelona after the 1992 Olympics, affirming that sports can bring about a comprehensive societal transformation, which NEOM aims to achieve as part of the goals of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's vision.

Al-Mutairi clarified that the new club aims to build a solid foundation that qualifies it to compete with major clubs in Saudi Arabia, noting that sports have become a pivotal element in the development of NEOM city.

Al-Mutairi announced that NEOM Club has its sights set on qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup within five years, emphasizing that the belief in achieving the impossible is what drives them to double their efforts and pursue their dream.

Al-Mutairi praised the importance of teamwork and dedication, expressing his complete confidence in the club's ability to achieve qualitative accomplishments in the future, especially after winning the Yelo League title and advancing to the Roshan Professional League.
