Rodri Enters Real Madrid's Radar
Saturday 17-05-2025
Real Madrid, the Spanish club, is placing star Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder, on its list of interests to strengthen the midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window, as part of a project to build a new team led by the anticipated coach Xabi Alonso.

The management of the Merengues, led by Florentino Perez, is working on strengthening several key positions, with the midfield being one of the club's top priorities.

Although Rodri, who won the Ballon d'Or for Best Player in the World for 2024, is considered one of the best midfielders in the world, he is not Real Madrid's first choice, as compatriot Martin Zubimendi, the star of Real Sociedad, takes precedence in the club's plans.

However, Rodri remains a strong option if Zubimendi signs with Arsenal, which is currently leading the race to acquire him.

Rodri, who is 28 years old, is contracted with Manchester City until June 2027, with a market value estimated at 130 million euros, according to Transfermarkt, but his long absence due to a serious injury this season has raised some doubts about his physical condition.

In addition to Rodri, Real Madrid's management is considering several names to strengthen the midfield, including Tijjani Reijnders from Milan, Alexis Mac Allister from Liverpool, and Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
