Mido Criticizes the Performance of Egypt's Youth National Team
Ahmed Hossam Mido, a member of the planning committee at Zamalek Club, criticized the performance of Egypt's youth national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Mido said on the platform "X": "The performance of Egypt's youth national team is sad during the Africa Cup of Nations, and it is a natural result of the neglect by those responsible for football in Egypt regarding the foundations of football, good stadiums, and equipping coaches with modern training knowledge. Additionally, there are favors in the selection of coaches and players at the expense of better players and coaches, and most journalists flatter the entire system due to mutual interests among them!!".
He continued: "We have reached rock bottom in football. It is a loss for a country that has all the capabilities to have at least 70 or 80 players playing in Europe, but due to stagnant thinking and lack of any planning, we have reached what we have reached!! And still!!!".
He added: "The management system of football in Egypt has appointed incompetent people in important positions who are not qualified to control them and their decisions, allowing them to favor whom they want, resulting in a failed league that is getting worse and worse, and weak national teams that do not have a single player who can continue and play for the first team, along with coaches who have no connection to modern training knowledge."
He further stated: "The audience is mostly packed in buses belonging to political parties, and journalists are praising specific players because they are the children of important people, and frankly, the football has nothing to do with the football we watch everywhere in the world."
