Al-Hilal Enters a Fiery Race to Acquire Moroccan Gem from Belgian League
The Saudi club Al-Hilal has strongly entered the race to acquire the rising Moroccan talent Shams Al-Din Talbi, winger for Club Brugge in Belgium, in a surprising move that reflects the "leader's" desire to strengthen its squad in preparation for the upcoming major challenges.
Al-Hilal is looking to make significant signings ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States from June 15 to July 13, where the team has been placed in Group 8 alongside Real Madrid, Salzburg, and Pachuca.
According to the Belgian newspaper "voetbalnieuws," Al-Hilal is not alone in the race for Talbi, as several European giants are eyeing the player, most notably Juventus and Napoli from Italy, and Leipzig from Germany, with similar interest from Atletico Madrid and Dortmund.
The newspaper revealed that the management of Club Brugge has set a fixed price for Talbi's transfer, amounting to 20 million euros (equivalent to 84 million Saudi riyals), in light of the growing interest from major clubs, with Al-Hilal currently being one of the most prominent clubs vying for the young player's services.
Talbi's journey began at the Royal Union Tubize Academy before moving to Club Brugge, where he emerged as a player capable of playing on both wings and creating plays. Since his debut with the first team in January 2023, he has participated in 53 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists.
Talbi was born to a Moroccan father and a Belgian mother, and he represented Belgium at various youth levels, but he recently decided to represent the Moroccan national team, despite Belgium's attempts to secure him internationally, reflecting the player's attachment to his roots and his ambition to make an impact with the "Atlas Lions."
