Blanc's Statements After Al-Ittihad's Victory Over Al-Faihah
Laurent Blanc, the coach of Al-Ittihad, commented on his team's victory over Al-Faihah on Sunday evening with a score of three goals to none in a match held as part of the 31st round of the Saudi Professional League.
Blanc confirmed after the match that the victory over Al-Nassr in the previous game provided a significant morale boost for the team to continue their journey towards winning the title.
He said in his post-match statements: "Our victory over Al-Nassr gave the players a huge mental boost, everyone felt that winning was possible. Before the match against Al-Faihah, I told the players: We have something exceptional to achieve, enjoy yourselves and fear nothing, it’s a wonderful challenge for everyone."
Regarding his decision to play goalkeeper Raikovic despite his injury, he said: "It wasn't a big gamble; if the injury required surgical intervention, I wouldn't have played him, but I made the decision with conviction, and I was the one who chose that."
It is noteworthy that Al-Ittihad is now close to winning the league title after reaching a total of 74 points at the top of the standings.
