
Asian Football Confederation Fines Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal
The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Asian Football Confederation has imposed financial fines against Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal due to the incidents that occurred during the final stages of the AFC Champions League for elite teams.
Al-Ahli succeeded in winning the AFC Champions League for elite teams after defeating Kawasaki Frontale of Japan with a score of 2-0 in the final match.
The committee decided to fine Al-Ahli $10,000 USD due to some fans entering the pitch during the match between Al-Ahli and Buriram United of Thailand in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League for elite teams.
Additionally, Al-Ahli was fined another $10,000 USD for allowing two unauthorized individuals to enter the technical area during the same match.
The committee also obligated Al-Hilal to pay $9,000 USD due to fans throwing paper onto the pitch and delaying the start of the second half of the match against Guangzhou Evergrande of South Korea in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
