Hussein Falah: We aspired to win against Zakho but we were not successful
Al-Zawraa defender Hussein Falah expressed his regret after the goalless draw against Zakho in the 31st round of the Iraqi Stars League, confirming that the team aspired to achieve victory and distance themselves at the top, but things did not go as planned on the pitch.
He said: "We entered the match with strong determination to earn the three points, but we faced a defensively organized opponent, and they closed down the spaces significantly, and we were not successful in capitalizing on the few chances that came our way."
He continued: "We knew that the match would be difficult, especially since it was held at their stadium, and the absence of crowd pressure made the pace slow during many periods of the match."
He added: "We have great confidence in ourselves as players and coaching staff, and we realize that the competition is still ongoing despite losing two points, and we will work hard in the upcoming rounds to achieve victories."
He concluded: "We thank our fans who follow us and support us in all circumstances, and we promise to compensate for this draw in the next match."
He emphasized: "Every match is considered a final at this stage of the season, and we must fight until the last moment to maintain our chances."
