Basra Oil Coach: The Loss is Painful and We Will Hold the Negligent Accountable
Basra Oil coach Imad Awda expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the loss his team suffered against their guest Duhok with a score of 1-0, in the match held at the Olympic Port Stadium during the 31st round of the Iraqi Stars League, confirming that the team is in a difficult situation and needs serious support from everyone.
He said: "We lost in a match we should not have lost. We played at home and in suitable conditions, but some players lacked spirit, and we made mistakes that cost us the result, which is unacceptable."
He added: "Duhok is a respectable team with strong elements, but we were capable of matching them, especially since we are going through a critical phase and need the points, but the performance in the second half was not at the required level, and we lost focus at a crucial moment."
He continued: "The players are required to show a stronger character in the upcoming matches, because what is happening does not meet the ambitions of the club, and we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and hold the negligent accountable, as staying in the league is now at stake."
He concluded: "We still have upcoming matches, and we will not give up; we have a responsibility to the management and the fans, and we will look for technical and mental solutions to regain balance before it's too late."
