Basra Oil coach, Imad Awda, emphasized the importance of his team's match against Duhok in the 31st round of the Iraqi Stars League, pointing out that the encounter represents a pivotal moment in the team's journey this season amidst the relegation battle.

He said: "We know the difficulty of the match; Duhok is a strong and organized team with an excellent coach who has successfully led the team to a Gulf title, but we are in a position that does not allow us to lose more points."

He added: "The team is going through a tough phase; the recent series of negative results has put us in a complicated situation, but we have the determination and spirit to bounce back, and we are fighting with the hope of survival."

He continued: "We have been working over the past few days to correct defensive and offensive mistakes, and we focused on the mental and physical aspects of the players to be fully prepared for this encounter."

He concluded: "Despite the pressures, the players have the desire to make up for it, and every match now is like a final; our goal against Duhok is to come away with all the points only."
