Cardiff City Appoints Ramsey as Head Coach
Saturday 19-04-2025
Cardiff City has announced the appointment of Welsh star Aaron Ramsey as the head coach of the first team until the end of the 2024/2025 season, in a surprising move amid the team's struggle to avoid relegation from the English Championship.

Ramsey, who is 34 years old, will take on the role of leading the team both as a coach and a player at the same time, despite currently being sidelined due to injury, which means he will limit himself to coaching duties in the upcoming matches.

Cardiff City currently sits second to last in the league table with 42 points, just one point away from the nearest safe position, with three rounds left in the season, where they will face Oxford United, West Bromwich Albion, and Norwich City.

Ramsey has participated in 8 matches this season with Cardiff in the Championship, without scoring or assisting any goals, and is considered one of the most prominent names in the club's history, having started his football career with them before moving to Arsenal in 2008.
