The English club Arsenal received another blow before the second leg against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, after it was confirmed that Italian midfielder Jorginho would be absent due to injury.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Jorginho suffered a strong blow during the team's last match against Brentford in the Premier League and had to leave the field in the second half, announcing his absence from Wednesday's match at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Although coach Mikel Arteta does not rely on Jorginho as a starter this season, his absence could be significant if Thomas Partey also fails to make it to the match, as the Ghanaian is also suffering from an injury sustained in the same game, although there is optimism about his recovery in time.

If Partey is also absent, Arteta may have to adjust the positions of some players, such as deploying Mikel Merino in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard, while assigning the false nine role to Leandro Trossard.

It is worth mentioning that Arsenal is preparing to travel to Madrid on Tuesday evening after completing their last training session in London.
