Bruno Fernandes: It's Time to Give Back, We're Having a Tough Season
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes spoke to the press after the 4-1 loss against Newcastle in the 32nd round of the Premier League.
The player said: "There’s not much to evaluate, we lost the game. In the first half, we performed well, and in the second half, we couldn’t continue playing the way we wanted to. "
He added: "We know this season has been tough, and there’s nothing more to add to that. Our position in the table is not where it should be, but unfortunately, we are not getting the results we want. We have to look forward; we have a big game coming up, and we need to clear our minds and put in a strong performance."
He emphasized: "We are in this situation because we have not been consistent in our performances. We lack boldness and courage. It wasn’t the case today as we ended up conceding goals because we tried to be brave."
He followed: "It’s easy to point fingers because this club hasn’t suffered like this before, so it’s natural. You have to realize you are playing for United, and criticism will be present."
He concluded: "Our fans have been there for us throughout the season during tough times, and today they were present at the end trying to lift our spirits. It’s time to give back (against Lyon in the Europa League)."
