French star Kylian Mbappe received a direct red card during the match between Real Madrid and Deportivo Alaves, as part of the 31st round of La Liga.

The red card was issued in the 37th minute after a violent tackle by Mbappe on one of the opposing team's players, prompting the referee to use the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to review the incident before making the decision to send him off.

Mbappe is now facing the possibility of a suspension for several matches, with potential penalties ranging from two to twelve games, depending on what the referee's report includes after the match.

If it is decided to suspend him for more than two matches, the penalty will not only apply to La Liga but will also extend to the Copa del Rey, according to local regulations, meaning he could potentially miss the anticipated final against Barcelona.
