Argentine star Lionel Messi, player for the American team Inter Miami, has finalized his future with the team ahead of the summer transfer window in 2025, as he has decided to extend his contract with the club.

According to reliable journalist David Ornstein via his official account on the social media platform X, negotiations for extending Messi's contract with Inter Miami have reached advanced stages, and the Argentine star is expected to sign the extension soon.

It is noted that Messi's current contract ends at the end of 2025, but the extension will ensure his continued presence with the team until 2026, the year in which Inter Miami will move to its new stadium.

Messi, who joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain, has played four matches this season in Major League Soccer, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He is also preparing to participate with his team in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where they will face Egyptian club Al Ahly, Brazilian club Palmeiras, and Portuguese club Porto in Group A.

Inter Miami is set to face Chicago Fire on Sunday in Major League Soccer at 10:30 PM Cairo time at Soldier Field.
