Riyad Mahrez, the star of Al-Ahli Saudi Club, spoke about his team's draw against Al-Ittihad in yesterday's match on Saturday.

The match between Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, which took place as part of the 26th round of the Saudi League, ended in a positive draw of 2-2.

Mahriz said in television statements after the match: "It's not a good thing when we draw, we wanted to win, especially since we were the better team... but sometimes you are the better team and you don't win."

He added: "We scored and conceded, but we played against a good team as well, which is at the top of the league; we weren't playing against a weak team... They deserved to score because they have quality, but I believe we were the better team."

He continued: "We drew and did not lose, and we must keep going because we need to be ready for the AFC Champions League... Mistakes happen naturally, it’s not related to focus, they also made mistakes and we scored, because we are playing at a high level, and it's difficult to control (completely)... but it was a good match."

He concluded: "They (Al-Ittihad) are at the top of the league, and they deserve it... but today we were the better team, yet we ended up with a draw."
