Yaislah Expresses Disappointment Over Draw Against Al-Ittihad
Matthias Yaislah, the head coach of Al-Ahli Saudi FC, expressed his dissatisfaction with the 2-2 draw against Al-Ittihad, emphasizing that he feels a great disappointment for the fans, especially since the team was leading in the score and failed to maintain the victory.
Yaislah said: "I find it difficult to accept the result; we were the better side at many times during the match, and we took the lead, but we failed to hold onto it. We should have been more controlled and dominant after taking the lead."
He added: "We performed well against a strong team this season, but we made mistakes that cost us the win, and we need to rectify them quickly, especially with our participation in the AFC Champions League approaching."
He continued: "In the Asian tournament, I expect the refereeing to be better than in the league; we are not satisfied with the refereeing in today's match, and our reaction was clear, but in the end, this is football."
He explained: "We must maintain our focus, especially given the long stoppage times counted in the league, and we have scored in similar situations before; we need to learn from these moments and be mentally stronger."
Regarding his team's performance, Yaislah said: "Al-Ittihad struggled to play the ball out during the first half, and we controlled the game; also, Mohammed Bakr delivered an excellent performance against one of the league's most dangerous players, Moussa Diaby, and I am proud of him because he is one of the club's own."
