English player Ruben Loftus-Cheek, midfielder for AC Milan, suffered a sudden health issue that forced him to undergo an appendectomy just hours before his team's match against Napoli in Serie A.

According to 'Football Italia', Loftus-Cheek experienced severe abdominal pain last night, prompting his immediate transfer to the hospital, where it was decided that he would undergo emergency surgery. So far, the duration of his absence from the pitch has not been determined, but he was scheduled to start against Napoli to compensate for the absence of Yunus Musah due to suspension.

Loftus-Cheek, who is 29 years old, has participated in 22 matches with Milan this season, but has only started 7 matches as a starter across all competitions due to a muscle injury that sidelined him for a period.

The English midfielder joined Milan in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea in a deal worth £18.5 million, where he was relied upon as a key figure in the midfield.
