Kompany: This is what I told the players, and Eto's injury is a painful blow
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany appeared in a press statement after the victory over St. Pauli 3-2 in the 27th round of the Bundesliga.
The coach said: "St. Pauli is a very organized team, and they do not concede many goals or chances. I informed the team before the match that they needed to be patient in case we didn't score, and then things went well."
He added: "In the second half, we created many chances, but St. Pauli had their moments as well in the first half."
Regarding Hiroki Ito's injury: "His injury dampened our spirits. I would have been satisfied if he hadn't gotten injured, but the feeling of losing him is painful. However, this is not an excuse for the future; we are now closer with one game and we need to win seven more matches."
He explained: "Ito suffered a sprain in the same ankle he complained about at the beginning of the season. This is not good news for us. He will undergo an MRI scan, and we will see what happens."
He concluded about Coman's return: "I hope he returns to training next week, and we see him in the next match."
