Liverpool Identifies Van Dijk's Replacement from Inter Milan

The English club Liverpool has settled on the Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni, a player from Inter Milan, as a potential replacement for team captain Virgil van Dijk, who is nearing departure in the summer of 2025 as his contract comes to an end.

According to a report published by "Football Insider", Liverpool believes that the 25-year-old Bastoni would be a strong addition to the defense, as well as being a long-term replacement for Van Dijk.

The Italian defender has a contract with Inter Milan until 2028, giving the Italian club an advantage in negotiations, with the deal estimated to be around 60 million euros. However, it is not expected that the player will push for a move, complicating negotiations.

Tottenham is also entering the competition, having shown interest in signing Bastoni for some time, and has sent scouts to monitor his performance with Inter Milan this season, where the player has played 41 matches and contributed to his team's lead in the Italian league.

In addition to Bastoni, Liverpool is monitoring other names to strengthen its defense, such as Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace and Dean Huyse from Bournemouth.
