New Zealand Qualifies for the World Cup
Monday 24-03-2025
New Zealand's national team has qualified for the 2026 World Cup after winning against New Caledonia 3-0 in the final match of the Oceania qualifiers.

This makes them the fifth team to secure a spot in the finals alongside Japan and the tournament hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

This will be New Zealand's third appearance in the World Cup, following the 1982 edition in Spain and the 2010 edition in South Africa.

It is worth noting that the New Caledonia team will participate in the global playoff, which will feature a new format (5 teams in a single group representing 5 continents).
