Ronaldo: I Will Defend My Country's Crest Until Death, and I Won't Hide This
Saturday 22-03-2025
Portuguese national team star Cristiano Ronaldo appeared at a press conference to discuss tomorrow's match against Denmark in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.

Portugal lost the first leg 1-0.

The phenomenon said: "The atmosphere is tense, I won’t hide that. We are in a more stressful moment because we need to win, but that’s the beauty of football. I urge the fans tomorrow to be with us. Let them transfer their strength to us, as we will try to give our best effort."

He added: "My hope is that tomorrow will be a beautiful day for everyone; there is no option other than winning."

He continued: "Anyone proud to represent this crest should have this ambition. I have lost matches in 90 minutes, but I have never lost a single half; tomorrow is the second half."

He further stated: "There are games like this, and there are bad days; I didn’t play at all, and the team didn’t play at all in the first match, but that’s part of life. I want to leave the Alvalade stadium tomorrow with my head held high."

He added: "It’s not about me scoring goals... all I want is for Portugal to win. If we win and I don’t play, I will sign off on that."

He concluded: "I will focus only on defending my country’s crest until death, as always. I would be happy if we win tomorrow and another teammate scores a goal!"
