Medhat El-Adl Comments on the League's Punishments Against Al-Ahly
Medhat El-Adl, a member of the investment committee at Zamalek Club, commented on the penalties imposed by the League Association on Al-Ahly Club after its withdrawal from the match against Zamalek last Tuesday in the first round of the decisive phase of the Premier League.
The League Association decided to impose the following penalties on Al-Ahly:
"To recognize the result of the match by declaring Zamalek Club the winner with a score of 3-0 according to Article (4.17) of the competition regulations. A deduction of three points from Al-Ahly Club in addition to the points related to the match in which it was considered defeated (the points related to the Zamalek match), with Al-Ahly Club bearing all losses resulting from the loss of income from commercial contracts, broadcasting contracts, and all other expenses incurred from participating in the competition matches prior to withdrawal, based on a request from the rights holders, according to Article (8.17) of the competition regulations."
Medhat El-Adl stated on Facebook: "A salute of appreciation to the League Association, led by Ahmed Diab, whom I previously criticized for the fair decision regarding the summit match and for not applying double standards."
He added: "The state of football in Egypt can only be improved through fairness among all parties.. Thank you."
