Reasons for Courtois and Rudiger's Absence from the Match Against Rayo Vallecano
Sunday 09-03-2025
Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Spanish club Real Madrid, announced the team's list in preparation for the match against Rayo Vallecano, part of the 27th round of the La Liga, scheduled to take place today at 5:15 PM Cairo time.

The list saw the absence of Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and German defender Antonio Rudiger, with no official announcement from the club regarding the reasons.

According to Spanish newspaper "AS", Courtois is experiencing slight discomfort in his right knee, prompting Ancelotti to give him a rest to avoid worsening the injury. The newspaper also confirmed that Rudiger is suffering from the flu, but the coach decided to rest him ahead of the upcoming clash against Atletico Madrid.

The German defender is expected to return to group training on Monday in preparation for the capital derby.

Real Madrid currently sits in third place in the La Liga standings with 54 points from 26 matches, following their recent defeat against Real Betis 2-1.
