Salah: Winning the Premier League is My Top Goal This Season

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah confirmed that winning the Premier League title with his team Liverpool this season is his top priority, even surpassing the dream of clinching the Champions League title.

In a newspaper interview, Salah revealed a shift in his perspective regarding trophies, indicating that winning the Premier League has become his greatest goal at the moment. He stated, "I always saw the Champions League as the most important, but this season my viewpoint has changed, and the biggest motivation for me now is to win the Premier League title."

Although Liverpool won the league in the 2019/2020 season, Salah believes that winning the title this season would be more special due to the absence of fan celebrations at that time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added, "I just want to win the Premier League with the fans and the city, and to experience the celebration together in the streets of Liverpool, it will be a wonderful showcase."

This statement comes amid increasing questions about Salah's future, as his contract ends at the end of the season alongside his teammates Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, with no progress announced yet in renewal negotiations.

Despite being 32 years old, Salah continues to deliver exceptional performances, having scored 25 goals and provided 17 assists this season, making him one of the standout stars of the Premier League.

Salah reflected on his journey in the Premier League, recalling the challenges he faced when he joined Chelsea nearly a decade ago, saying, "I was very young and shy, and David Luiz was like an older brother to me, always trying to support me and talk to me."

Regarding the physical difficulties he faced in his early days, he added jokingly, "I remember my first match against Newcastle, I was tackled hard on the sideline, and I thought to myself, how will I survive here? I need to hit the gym immediately."
