Former Al-Hilal Star: Benzema is the Main Engine of Al-Ittihad
Nasser Al-Shamrani, the former Al-Hilal striker, confirmed that Karim Benzema is the main engine of the Al-Ittihad team in Saudi Arabia.
Benzema currently ranks second among the top scorers in the Saudi league, just one goal behind the leader Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al-Ittihad drew against Al-Khaleej yesterday, Wednesday, in the 22nd round of the Saudi league.
Al-Shamrani said in statements to the program "In 90": "Whenever Benzema moves, Al-Ittihad moves completely; now we call it Benzema's Ittihad... the team performed better in the second half than it did in the first half against Al-Khaleej."
He continued: "Al-Khaleej, which managed to beat Al-Hilal, today outperformed Al-Ittihad in performance."
He added: "Al-Khaleej does not suffer from any pressure, as it is far from the relegation zone and is also not close to the top areas, so it is free from any pressures."
