The Tunisian Football Association announced the appointment of Sami Trabelsi as a new technical director for the Tunisian national team, to return to the leadership of the Carthage Eagles after more than 10 years.

Trabelsi, 57, decided to leave his work as a technical analyst on BN Sports, to lead the Tunisian national team, who had previously trained him between 2011 and 2013.

The appointment of Trabelsi came after the failure of negotiations with Portuguese coach Carlos Kirosh, who visited Tunisia last month to negotiate, but the discussions collapsed due to financial differences, according to the Tunisian newspaper Al -Shorouk.

The Tunisian team continues its career in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, as it leads the ninth group with 10 points in its endeavor to reserve the qualification card for the next World Cup.
