Tottenham coach: We abandoned this opportunity, and Liverpool was better than us
Tottenham coach Angie Busticoglu appeared in press statements after the loss in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final, knowing that the first leg ended with Tottenham's 1-0 victory.
"Liverpool was better than us tonight. We did not enter the match the way we wanted. We allowed them to control the meeting," the coach said.
He added: "When they entered the rhythm of the match, we did not give ourselves the opportunity to get a foothold in the match."
He stressed: "We were very negative about football with the ball and without it. I think this is a lesson for us. We cannot be ashamed of the football that we want to play."
He continued: "We gave up a good opportunity tonight to win the title of this season, and we cannot be ashamed of it, we were in a good position to reach the final.
"No one needs to raise my spirits, I just need to raise the morale of the players."
