Xabi Alonso, coach of the German club Bayer Leverkusen, confirmed that the Nigerian striker Victor Bonifas will continue with the team and will not move to the Saudi League in the current period, and this came after Leverkusen qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League by defeating Sparta Brag 2/0.

Alonso said: "Bonifas will train with us on Thursday, and we will meet him to discuss more. I am very happy because he will remain with the team," adding that the Nigerian striker will participate in the next match against Hoffenheim, after an absence of two months due to injury.

Media reports had linked Bonifas to a possible transfer to the Saudi Al -Nasr Club in a deal worth 70 million euros, however, the deal was not completed in the last moments, due to Al -Nasr's lack of permanent approval, according to the famous journalist "Fabrizio Romano".

Bonifas's survival is a positive news for Alonso, as the team will avoid the need to sign a new striker before the winter transfer period was closed, and Alonso indicated that Bonifas is comfortable in Leverkusen, expressing his confidence in his ability to compete for his primary place in the squad.
