Zamalek coach Swiss Christian Gross spoke about his team's 0-0 draw against Al-Masry Club of Port Said in the fourth round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup.

Gross said in His statements after the end of the match: “We should have worked harder in the first half.”

He continued: “The Al-Masry team took a risk in the second half to score, which created spaces and we had a dangerous opportunity for Abdullah Al-Saeed and we could have settled the match through it, and I think it was a draw.” A fair result for both teams in my opinion.”

Gross responded to the reason for Hamza Mathlouthi’s absence from participation, saying: “I have a large number of players on the team roster, and today we kept a clean sheet, and this is a good thing from a standpoint.” Defensively, we need to improve on the offensive side. He is an important player for the team and will get his chance with Zamalek.”

He explained Mohamed Atef’s non-participation and the inclusion of young players: “I focus with the team on Training, and any player Proving himself in training will get his chance, and everyone is required to focus in order to prove himself.”

Gross continued: “I do not want to talk about transfers in the press conference, and I respect all competitors. “After Enyimba’s victory over the Black Bulls today, my goal is to maintain the lead.”

He concluded: “I want to maintain the title and do my best with the team to win all the matches, but I am in my first stage in Egypt and I am getting to know all the competitors more in the coming period.”
