Guardiola: This is the team's situation, and competing for a Champions League qualifying spot is not bad
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in a press conference to talk about tomorrow's match against Everton, in the 33rd round of the Premier League, at Goodison Park.
The coach spoke about the team's condition: "Ederson is unavailable, and I don't know the exact duration of his absence. Haaland is still unavailable and will continue to be absent for the upcoming period. Nathan Ake and Stones are also not ready."
Regarding the atmosphere at Goodison Park: "It is a special stadium like other traditional stadiums in England; when you go to Fulham or Villa Park, or stadiums like these, you feel a special atmosphere. But clubs grow, and I am completely sure that their new stadium will be better in terms of comfort. It is a beautiful place to go to, and it is of course difficult but beautiful."
He continued about the Everton team: "Sean Dyche has done a great job at Everton during his time with the team, but Moyes' impact is still significant."
He added: "I enjoyed the Champions League matches, Aston Villa, Dortmund, and Barcelona. I hope we can return there next season. Of course, the return motivates us a lot. We haven't been good, but the upcoming matches are important."
He continued: "We are not at our best, but we are good. The recent win over Crystal Palace was really important."
He stated: "We just hope to reach the Champions League next season and face the top European clubs, competing better than we did this season and what we have shown in the past seven years. This is what I see."
He concluded: "Competing for a Champions League qualifying spot is not bad; the team could be in a much lower position in the Premier League if we hadn't performed well compared to what we have done over the past four or five months. We could be in eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, or fourteenth place! I have no doubt about that; it is in our hands. Tomorrow's match is important; we don't have much time."
