About the Team

Comoros. The Comoros national football team is the official representative of the Comoros Republic in international tournaments, overseen by the Comoros Football Federation (FCF), which was established in 1979 and joined FIFA in 2005 and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in the same year. The team is considered one of the smallest African teams in terms of population and international experience, but it has achieved some notable results in continental tournaments and World Cup qualifiers, earning it a good reputation on the continent. The team is known by the nickname 'Les Coelacanthes' (the Coelacanths) and plays its matches at the Stade Omnisports de Moroni and sometimes at other stadiums within the country.
