Nagelsmann: It is difficult to defend against Yamal, and we are ready and confident
German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann appeared in a press conference, to talk about facing Spain, today, Friday, in the European Nations quarter-finals.
The coach said: “I hope Our preparations are complete. We decided who would start and who wouldn't start the match, we had a lot of one-on-one chats on the Wednesday, and we watched a lot of videos. We are well prepared and confident. We can perform well.”
He added: “The confrontation with Spain is not a final match, it is a quarter-final. We want to be one of the teams that qualify for the semi-finals. Spain wants to become champions too, so it will be a tough match. Both teams are good in possession and have good skills in counter-pressing, and both teams can put their opponents under pressure. It is important that the individual ones are in our favor.”
He continued: “Yamal delivers.” Very consistent performance recently. His job is to maintain this consistency. He clearly has great qualities, especially in one-on-one situations. And he's only 16 years old! You can't always defend against him. He's a versatile player and it's fun to watch for neutrals, but my focus is not on Yamal, but on Jamal Musiala."
He concluded:"It's without “It is undoubtedly one of the most important matches, but our preparations were identical to the previous matches, everything remains the same.”
