Mendy: We strive to win against Al Ain
Senegalese Edouard Mendy, Al-Ahly Saudi goalkeeper, spoke about the victory over Al-Fayhaa yesterday, Friday, stressing that his team is back on the right path.
Al-Ahly won over its counterpart Al-Fayhaa with a score of 1-0 in a match in the 11th round of the Saudi Roshan League.
Mendy said in statements to the “Dorena Gear” program after the match: “It was a difficult match against Al-Fayha, and it was not easy to return to the competition.” After the international break, we knew how to play to achieve points in the match and this is what we did.”
He added: “We succeeded in returning to the right path “Our goal is to continue in the same rhythm in order to correct the course and return to competing strongly. The league is still a long time away, and we seek to focus on achieving victory in the next match against Al Ain in the Asian Elite League.”
He continued: "It will be a difficult and different match. We are required to continue with the same mentality and desire, and to continue with positive results, but this matter is not easy, and requires a lot of work."
He concluded his speech: “We must all come together to achieve victory over Al Ain, and work will begin starting tomorrow.”
Al-Ahly and Al-Ain will meet next Monday in the fifth round of the AFC Elite Champions League.
