Khaled Al-Ghandour, the former Zamalek star, criticized the recent statements of Ahmed Soliman, a member of the Zamalek Club’s Board of Directors.
Ghandour said via a live video broadcast on Facebook: “Ahmed Suleiman’s statements are disastrous, and his words are taken seriously because he is a council member in Zamalek, but the administration This is not Zamalek’s opinion. Zamalek never prevents its players from joining the national team, otherwise its name will no longer be the National Club.”
He said Ahmed Soliman, through television statements with the journalist Mohib Abdel Hadi: “You are taking the Zamalek players so that you can park them on the bench and shine at the expense of the Al-Ahly players.” It is not possible and we will not agree to it.”
He continued: “Why doesn’t Awad play when he is a participant in two championships and another club takes two players from him in one position? Why does Hossam Abdel Majeed play for an hour later! In numbers and in every way, he is the best defender in Egypt now, why is Omar Gaber joining the national team?
He added: “If the issue goes to compliments, then the Zamalek player will be fine. We must protect them, and I will submit a request to the board of directors to prevent the player from joining the national team.”
He continued: “I will submit a request to the club’s football committee that we are considering sending our players to the national team if this is the way the team will be run.”
