FIFA is planning to test a new technology
A French press report said that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is planning to test a new technology next season.
The French network “RMCsport” reported that FIFA is working on introducing a new technology called Football Video Support (FVS).
The source added that this technology means that the coach “challenges” the referee if he makes a decision. It is believed that he is fouled during the match, as happens in tennis matches.
The newspaper concluded that Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, confirmed that many federations had applied to participate in the match. Trials for this technology, starting from the 2025-2026 season.
