Modric: We are still optimistic
Croatian Luka Modric, star of his country and Real Madrid, expressed his optimism despite the draw against Albania in the second round of Euro 2024, with the team earning the first point in the competition after losing the first match to Spain.

Luca said in statements after the match: “In the first half we were not good. We started the match poorly. In the second half, the coach made some changes and we became better until the last 15 minutes when we moved away from each other. I don’t know why we did that.” But we allowed the opponent to have two or three chances and score a goal.”
He added: “We have to win against Italy and then we will see if that is enough to qualify for the second round. It is not in our hands.” An option to get the three points. We can do that if we play as we played today in the second half, although Italy will be very difficult because they are a great team with a great coach and a very good organization.”

He concluded: “We will analyze the match and see what we have to fix. We are not satisfied and we must change something to avoid what happened today. We have shown that we are capable of overcoming the negative result. A draw today is unfortunate but we feel positive. Everything.” It depends on us now.”
